Most Americans, are wrong according to a new study by the Pew Research Center released on Thursday.
The survey points to our optimism. Most tend to think that this event may affect many but not me.
In the next century, With the development of robot-human intelligence skills: language, reasoning, vision, and movement will become technically possible to adapt to most of the human jobs. Some jobs require a body. There may be some jobs that we choose not to automate even though it’s technically possible to do so. New technologies can and will give up bigger chunks of their work to robots, what will be left for humans to do? Collect a free paycheck? to sit home hungry?
One option: Let the robots do the work while we spend our days thinking profound thoughts sitting on the beach drinking wine. Or we guide the robot as it does the hard labor, or we allow the robot to slowly take over and consequently starve to death.
There’s no reason not to be optimistic. Work is increasingly automated. Humanity will need to find a basic income so we can work and live comfortably.
